Extra Kids!

With John's hospital stay and work being so tough, I needed a way to earn some money so I looked for some kids that wanted to come hang out with us ;)
I have two extra girls and 3 extra boys on different days of the week and I absolutely love it! They all have their own special personalities and they are teaching Jak so many things. It really is a lot of fun and I don't want to change it for anything!

John's Hospital Stay

John had to have emergency surgery on his colon. He spent two weeks in the hospital with about a month of recovery after that. He is doing great now although we have to do it all over again in a couple months to do a reversal on the colostomy bag he has. We all went through a lot but it turned out okay and we are just getting back to "normal"

Jak Turns 2

Jakoda turned two this year and while I may have went a little overboard I think the party turned out awesome and everyone had a good time despite the rain! The party was farm themed because Jak LOVES animals. I made an open book cake with a barn and farm animals coming out of it. We had a blow up jumparoo that was a horse, there was hay bales for everyone to sit on and there were real baby chicks for everyone to hold and cuddle with! We had big ol' fashioned barbeque with all the fixins. The birthday boy even had his cowboy boots on!

January, February, March

So since I skipped like 6 months of blogging, I will do a quick catch up! January was my 25th birthday. We went to the mountains to play in the snow a few times and basically just been busy with kids and dealing with all of life's moments, good and bad! Jakoda is talking and learning more. He is so sweet and such smarty pants!

Christmas Pictures

So I was looking around online at Christmas time and found this website for a guy that dresses up like Santa and will set a time to come over and sit with kids and have pics taken and all you have to do is donate food for them to give to the food drive. I thought it was pretty cool so I set a time on Christmas Eve and had them go to my parents house and had all the grand kids there for Santa to say hi to and he even had a helper who gave each child a wrapped gift! Really awesome!! Jak wasn't too sure what to think but he loved the toy he got and it was interesting experience!!

He loved his awesome drums!!

Cutie Pie!!

Christmas 2009

Christmas, while not being over done at our house, was an absolute blast. The kids had a great time and Jakoda loved all of his toys. The older kids, Jaylee and Jordan, had the choice to for-fit a gift to a family in need. We found a single mother with 2 children, a boy and a girl, their ages and they picked something out for them while John and I picked a bunch of stuff out to make a basket for the mother, we included things to help them out like grocery gift cards and such. We went to their house at night time and hid in the car while Jaylee and Jordan put the items at their front door, knocked and ran! They still talk about the experience and ask to do it again this year! Love them!!

Jak's First Haircut

So, my mom and my sister decided that Jak's mullet was getting to be too much so we had to give him a little boy haircut....of course the only way he would allow it was if his hands were full of candy corn!!

Jakoda

So, while having the camera out I asked Jak to smile and he gave me some interesting faces! He really is the most wonderful kid ever and I have a great time with him every day. We like to go for walks...he is always wanting to go.

Overdue Update!!

Okay so it has been a really long time since I have posted anything on here...thought I better get to work! What has been new? Jak is getting so big, saying lots of words and running me ragged...he is a very rambunctious child! John has been working hard at his new job working for his parents selling automotive workshops. Hopefully things will work out and we will get in a good spot financially in life. I am doing my school, I graduate with my associates in March and immediately start my bachelors...it's hard work and takes discipline to use my "alone" time (Jak's nap time) for school rather than just relaxing for once! I love knowing that I will be able to get further in a career and make a better life for him though! Jaylee turns 11 here in a few days and Jordan has been having fun being 15 and playing golf for highschool. We are all just trucking along as well as we can!

Jak's 1st Birthday!!

On 4-20-09 Jak turned 1!! Unbelievable and a little sad but he is a healthy, good looking, sweet little boy and couldn't be more loved! His party turned out great. I made him his own little cake that looked like a block and some cupcakes in ice-cream cones to like ice cream. He had lots of fun and lots of cake! He loves his new toys and is such a little smarty pants!

Easter

Jakoda had a blast on his first easter hanging out with cousins and being surrounded by family! We had a nice dinner at my parents' house and had a fairly relaxing day.

Walking and Counting

So I have recently started....not a diet but a "lifestyle change". It hasn't been easy though! My doctor told me to do 1200 calories a day and why it may not sound too bad...you would be quite surprised at how easily they add up. I have been keeping a journal and I carry a "Biggest Loser Calorie Guide" which has the calorie amount for almost everything. You just have to do a lot of math to add all the different ingredients together. So I try to stick to my healthy choice frozen dinners that tell me how many calories are there as well as soup and 100 calorie packs. I think I have been doing pretty well...I have been under 1000 for the most part. I have also been walking around the lake at the nearby park with my sister with our bundled up babies or running up and down my stairs. I am feeling pretty good actually but have a very, very long road ahead of me!

Beautiful Boy

My sweet blue eyed boy is growing really fast! He has started to do so many new things. He started to get into everything, which I knew was inevitable. He has decided he actually doesn't like to eat everything but definately wants what I have! Jakoda really wishes he could walk and sometimes I think he just going to stand up and do it. He got his first tooth, on the bottom even though the one on the top has been trying to come thru for a month! He says mama now and with that John for some reason, taught him to say Obama. My favorite things are the fact that he now dances to music thanks to Ellen whom he loves and he is starting to wave. I just love seeing his chubby little fingers go. Jakoda is still just the happiest baby ever and I am truly blessed that he is mine!

Snow Baby

Jak's first snow!! He was really tired..otherwise I am

sure he would have a huge smile!

Christmas Tree Hunting

We went and got our tree....we don't have a lot of space so I was the big bummer of the day wanting pretty small tree when everyone else wanted a bigger one...John says "it can't be shorter than me" so I lost but we got a just-the-right-size tree. Jordan cut it down himself this year and Jaylee helped carry it.
